looked long before leaping

I've just decided to start this blogging thing. My family is taking a 10 day trip to Ireland at the end of July, and in preparation I'll be making all sorts of Irish food. One cannot know a land without knowing its food I like to say. I've never actually said that, but its catchy and perhaps I'll start using it in the future. What better time to start blogging about Irish food than on St. Patrick's Day, where I'll make some (Americanized) Irish food for friends. And of course drink lots of beer. If you have any recipe favorites, I'd be happy to try them and will write about them here.
